Driving $10k a Month in New GMV Through Seller-Centric Innovation

My Role

I led the end-to-end strategy, prioritization, design, and delivery for two high-impact features aimed at empowering our sellers and diversifying revenue channels. I collaborated cross-functionally with engineering, data, marketing, and customer success to ensure these features delivered measurable results aligned with both user needs and business goals.

Goal

Our platform serves small business owners selling food online. In 2024, we identified two critical opportunities to increase GMV and support sellers more holistically:

  1. Enable sellers to stay top of mind through effortless automated marketing.

  2. Support omnichannel commerce by equipping sellers with tools to capture revenue from in-person sales.

Marketing Automations

To drive repeat purchases and deepen customer relationships for sellers, we built a suite of plug-and-play marketing automations:

  • Thank you offer - to turn one time purchasers into repeat purchasers

  • New subscriber welcome series - to convert sign ups to sales

  • Newsletter - to stay top of mind and allow sellers to utilize simple on-brand email outreach

Impact

This feature alone brings in around $10K every month in new GMV and has become a core retention lever for our sellers.
